Apprenticeships

Would you like to learn the craft of language from scratch? At Text Control that doesn’t mean coffee-making or coffeemaking. Instead, it means working on the grammatical and orthographical fundamentals of language. Then you will learn to apply in practice what you have learned.

You will learn how to proofread text (in at least two languages) and copyedit (in your native language). To apply for an apprenticeship you require some prior knoweledge of the field, a feel for language, and the ability to learn by yourself. For suitable candidates the path to editing, copywriting, etc. is open.

The apprenticeship lasts two years. In the first year you will learn everything that a good proofreader needs to know. In the second year you will work actively in production and further refine your skills. In the third year it is possible to come on board as a fully-fledged copyeditor.

A requirement is that you come to us having completed either a course of study in the relevant language(s) or a translator training course.
